On September 8, North Macedonia celebrates its Independence Day, marking its separation from Yugoslavia in 1991. This historic day symbolizes the country’s path to sovereignty after a peaceful referendum, where over 95% of voters supported independence. Each year, citizens commemorate this milestone with pride, reflecting on the nation’s cultural heritage, unity, and progress.

On the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the International Organization for Economic Development, guided by the basic principles of the United Nations for nurturing ethical and moral values and following the basic right to happiness for all children and inclusiveness of persons with atypical development and disabilities, was the main sponsor of the upcoming international swimming competition. About 400 people from 8 countries participated in the competition.
